Storage
Q: When I go to the storage reservation form, I can’t click on the size unit that I want, it’s not functioning.
A: If you can’t click on a certain sized unit, then that size is not available at this time. Check back another time or call for availability. You may also reserve a different size unit. By the time you move in there may be availability of the unit size you want.
Q: What if I move in and discover that my unit isn’t big enough for all my stuff?
A: Transferring to a larger unit is no problem! You simply let us know you need a larger unit, move your stuff to the larger unit and from that day forward you pay the new rate. No additional charges ever. Same thing applies to downsizing.
Q: Should I put my stuff up on pallets?
A: Pallets are great for providing air flow around your stuff. Our dry, heated or air-conditioned air is the ideal atmosphere for preserving your treasured belongings. Shelving is another great idea for keeping your things surrounded by our humidity controlled air.
Q: Are there any things I can’t store?
A: Yes! We cannot allow storage of anything that is ‘hazardous, considered waste, toxic, illegal, explosive, highly flammable, perishable, living, or dead’. We will remind you at move-in about our prohibition on storing food of any kind.
Delivery Acceptance for Business Customers
Q: Is there a fee for delivery acceptance?
A: There is no fee unless we must accept deliveries of more than 6 packages at a time. The one-time fee for accepting deliveries of more than 6 packages is $25.
Student Summer Storage
Q: What if I need a unit larger than 5’ x 5’?
A: Middletown Self Storage offers students a 10% discount on any storage unit for the summer with a valid student ID!
Moving Helpers
Q: How do I know these moving companies are reliable?
A: Middletown Self Storage only recommends a select few moving companies. Our customers who use these companies return consistently favorable reviews to us about these companies. We don’t recommend just anybody, we make sure we hear only good things about them! Keep checking our website for an all-new page of customer reviews for our moving companies.
Uhaul Truck Rentals
Q: How do I make sure I can pick up my truck at Middletown Self Storage and not some other Uhaul location?
A: We ‘go the extra mile’ to get your truck here for your convenience, but unfortunately, we cannot guarantee 100% that you will pick up your truck here. Uhaul guarantees that you will have the truck you need at the time you need it. If we don’t have the truck here that you need, we must send you to another location to pick up. The best way to insure you pick up your truck from us is to call us directly with your reservation request, that way we have the maximum amount of lead time to find your truck and get it here for you. Car Top Carrier Rentals
Q: What are the inside dimensions of the Car Top Carriers?
A: We have two sizes available: the Thule Atlantis 1600, with 16 cubic feet of cargo room, 72” long x 34” wide x 15” high. Weight is 42 pounds. We also have the Thule Mountaineer, with 21 cubic feet of cargo room, 84” long x 24” wide x 15” high.
Q: Will my skis fit in the car top carrier?
A: Both carriers will fit most skis and snowboards. The 1600 model will fit 6-8 pairs of skis or 3-4 snowboards, and the 2100 model will fit 10-12 pairs of skis or 6-8 snowboards.
Q: If I don’t have crossbars on my car, can I still attach a car top carrier to my rack?
A: You must have crossbars to attach a car top carrier, but don’t fear! We have crossbars that will fit most factory racks. When you fill out a reservation form to rent a car top carrier, just fill in ‘crossbars’ where it asks, “What additional equipment will you need?”
Cargo Platform Rentals
Q: What are the dimensions of the cargo platform?
A: The platform dimensions are: 60” wide x 20” deep, there is also a 2” lip all around the edge.
Bike Rack Rentals
Q: How many bikes will fit on the bike rack?
A: Our top of the line Thule racks will fit 4 bikes easily and securely.
